Last week, something truly special happened. I had the immense privilege of attending the Blind Ambition Community meetup in London – and for the first time in my life, I found myself in a room filled with so many fellow blind and partially sighted people. It was, quite simply, empowering and profoundly special to come together, share our journeys, and connect on a level only those with similar lived experiences can.

As we exchanged stories, reflections, and the often-frustrating realities of navigating the world, a recurring theme emerged, particularly around career equity. It wasn’t just my story; it was a collective narrative that echoed in every corner of the room: the sheer amount of incredible, overlooked talent.

Having navigated a successful career despite being severely sight-impaired from birth, I intimately understand the subtle, and not-so-subtle, barriers that exist. It’s not about capability; it’s often about opportunity.
