Welcome to 2024! We want to extend our heartfelt wishes for a joyous New Year to everyone.

Today, we celebrate National Braille Day, which recognises the system of raised dots. This system empowers individuals who are blind or partially sighted to read and write through the sense of touch. Many people with visual impairments say Braille enhances their independence, education, and life opportunities. This Christmas, we even had the pleasure of receiving touching Braille greeting cards.

A little history about Braille… Braille is a remarkable system that uses six dots to represent letters, numbers, and symbols. It provides a tactile pathway for individuals who are blind or partially sighted to access the same wealth of knowledge found in books, periodicals, and other printed materials. Named after its ingenious creator, Louis Braille, who developed it in 19th century France, Happy National Braille Day!
