On 19 November 2025, Blind Ambition Recruitment was delighted to attend the DCC Employment Showcase, hosted at Amazon’s London headquarters. The event brought together major UK employers, disability charities, and inclusion specialists to explore how businesses can unlock the vast, often overlooked talent of disabled people — including blind and partially sighted professionals.
Organised by the Disability Charities Consortium (DCC) — a partnership of nine leading charities including the RNIB — the event focused on bridging the disability employment gap and empowering employers to build fully inclusive recruitment pipelines.
For Blind Ambition Recruitment, it was a powerful moment to champion the skills, resilience, and potential of blind and partially sighted jobseekers nationwide.
Driving Change Through Collaboration
Amazon Hosts, DCC Leads the Conversation
Amazon provided an impressive venue for a day packed with insight, collaboration, and practical ideas for creating accessible workplaces.
Sessions highlighted the importance of:
- accessible onboarding and HR systems
- unbiased recruitment processes
- workplace adjustments that remove barriers
- genuinely inclusive organisational culture
These are exactly the kinds of changes that open doors for blind and partially sighted people.
A Standout Keynote
Sir Charlie Mayfield delivered a thought-provoking keynote on the future of inclusive employment, drawing on themes from his Keep Britain Working review. His key message aligned strongly with our mission:
Inclusion is not a cost — it is an investment in talent.
