We are thrilled to share that the British Wireless for the Blind Fund (BWBF) is offering free Alexa devices to individuals living with sight loss. This incredible initiative aims to enhance accessibility and independence for those who are blind or partially sighted by providing them with a powerful tool to access information and entertainment through voice commands.

Why Alexa?

Alexa is a voice-activated virtual assistant developed by Amazon. It can perform a wide range of tasks, from playing music and providing weather updates to setting reminders and answering questions. For individuals with sight loss, Alexa offers a hands-free way to interact with technology, making daily tasks more manageable and enjoyable.

How to Apply

If you or someone you know is interested in receiving a free Alexa device, please complete the referral form linked below. The process is simple, and the benefits are immense.

Eligibility Criteria

To receive a free Alexa device, the recipient must meet the following criteria:

  • Resident in the UK
  • Living with sight loss
  • Over the age of eight
  • Receives Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Attendance Allowance (AA), Adult Disability Payment (ADP) in Scotland, or a means-tested benefit (or parent/guardian if under 18).
